The transformation of the streets in North Shields deliver high-quality paving, mature trees and enhanced seating to create a welcoming, modern environment.
The scheme will bring Bedford Street in line with other successful regeneration projects across the town, with new lighting, landscaping and an expanded pedestrian area. Restricting vehicle access to essential services will improve safety and unlock new opportunities for outdoor café seating, business use and community events.
This investment forms part of North Tyneside Council’s broader vision to revitalise North Shields and the Fish Quay, creating a vibrant, attractive town centre with high-quality public space
